During my years of studying the piano as a teenager, I had several teachers intermittently. Although these teachers have in some ways helped me progress through to higher stages of my piano studies, they did not work through the basic fundamentals with me and hence, I have accumulated some bad habits when playing the piano.

 

The first few piano lessons I had with Ms Xiaoyun was crucial. She pointed out these bad habits that I had unknowingly picked up previously. In the next few months, she taught me a more efficient manner of playing the piano; how the arms can be incorporated with my wrist and fingers to achieve a better sound and how I can vary the tone qualities of the piano. In addition, she taught me ways to practice and instilled a strong sense of rhythmic pulse in me. I am now able to play the piano with a more secure technique. 

 

Ms Xiaoyun's teaching has helped me tremendously and this can be demonstrated in my recent ABRSM exam results. Within a year of study with Ms Xiaoyun, I achieved a Distinction in both my grade 3 practical (where I scored full marks in one of my pieces) and grade 4 theory exams. I am very grateful to Ms Xiaoyun for her enthusiasm, passion and professionalism in music and her teachings.  

 

 

在學琴的年歲裏，斷斷續續有過幾位老師，雖然都有不同階段的進步，但是不知不覺中積纍養成了一些彈琴的壞習慣，以往的老師也沒有糾正過這些小毛病。过后，我就开始和晓蕴老师一起上课。

 

记得在先前的幾堂課，晓蕴老师就糾正了我的這些不好的習慣，比如説：手指如何觸碰琴鍵，手臂如何配合，注意不同力度的音質，如何在練習識譜時就要有穩定的節拍，如何把曲子分解成小節來練習多出錯的地方等等。

​

 

可以說晓蕴老师的教學真的幫助到我很多，而且有明顯的成果，不單能彈好一支曲子，更是鍛煉了我在音樂上的詮釋處理能力。大概和晓蕴老师學琴有一年多的時間后，我在ABRSM 第三級考試中取得了優異的成績，拿到Distinction，而且其中一首曲子拿了滿分。乐理第四级也同样取得Distinction。非常感謝她教學的熱誠及專業嚴謹！
